WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
Our CAC Legacy
Children’s Aid Club was founded in 1955 by a small group of women who wanted to do something to help enrich the lives of the many underprivileged children in our South Florida community.
Over 67 years later, the 40 active members of CAC continue to select, support and contribute financially and socially to the welfare of children in South Florida.
Children’s Aid Club has helped thousands of children and families through our partnerships with schools, charitable organizations, and our Immediate Response Fund for Families. Providing personal contact and involvement is our strength and makes us unique and successful.
OUR MISSION
Our Purpose is "To positively impact the health, general welfare, and education of underprivileged children in our community. We accomplish this by helping families in crisis and through partnerships with other non-profit organizations serving children in need." We accomplish this in two ways:
By partnering with local children's Organizations and through our Immediate Response Fund for Individuals and Special Projects.
WE WORK WITH ORGANIZATIONS
Children's Aid Club establishes relationships with schools in low-income areas and selected charitable organizations providing services to families in need. This enables CAC to reach more children, both in groups as well as individuals.
A liaison works with each school or organization to identify its needs, propose an annual budget to CAC and ensure that budgeted funds are used effectively and efficiently to benefit as many children as possible.
WE WORK WITH INDIVIDUALS
Through our Immediate Response Fund for Families, Children's Aid Club is able to act swiftly to provide financial assistance to families with children for short-term crisis situations. Families referred to us from our partner organizations are screened to qualify their needs, expenses, income, and ability to sustain themselves in the future. By working directly with creditors, we are sure that funds are being spent in accordance with our funding guidelines.
WE HAVE SPECIAL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS
Distribute Holiday Baskets of food and gifts
Assemble and distribute layettes for at-risk newborns
Distribute food gift certificates to ensure that children do not go hungry
Provide school uniforms and shoes
Sponsor achievement award events in schools
Sponsor Birthday and Holiday parties
And so much more.....
*Zero overhead is how we operate. We have no paid employees and 100% of our profits go directly back into our community.
